Turning Your Players Into Cash
If you want to sell a player, you list them on the transfer market. You set the starting price (minimum €10,000) and how long the auction runs (2–7 days). Other managers bid on them. After the deadline, the player goes to the highest bidder — you get the proceeds minus a small selling fee.
An auction is final — you can't withdraw it! And if nobody bids, you still pay the listing fee. Think carefully about the starting price.
Free Agents — The Bargain Hunt
Out-of-contract players appear on the free agent market. You submit a salary offer and set the contract length (1–5 seasons). After a few days the player decides — and the best overall package wins. Free agents are often cheaper than auction players, but the competition doesn't sleep.
Terminating Contracts
You can cancel any player contract early — that costs a severance fee calculated from their market value and salary. The player becomes a free agent and can be signed by other teams. Expensive, but sometimes the only solution for an unhappy benchwarmer.
Salary & Market Value
A player's market value depends on their strength, age, and potential. Young talents with high potential are the most valuable. Older players lose market value rapidly — even if they still play well. A 19-year-old gem with potential 95 is worth a fortune; a 34-year-old veteran with the same skills is only a fraction.
Fees & deadlines
Listing an auction incurs a selling fee that depends on the starting price as a percentage. Auctions run between 2 and 7 days, you choose the period yourself. In the last minute the auction can automatically extend on a new bid so bidders can react fairly. The minimum starting price is 10,000 euros. Also note: your roster must never fall below 23 players.
Auction strategy
Don't set the starting price too high, otherwise you scare off bidders – a low entry can spark bidding dynamics that ultimately bring more than a high fixed price. Watch other teams' auctions to better estimate the market value of your players. Especially young players with high potential often fetch clearly more than their starting price.
Scout a player before you bid on him. The displayed values are inaccurate until scouting is complete – an apparent bargain can turn out to be an expensive mistake.
Contract lengths when buying
When buying a player via auction you receive a contract whose length also depends on the player's age. Younger players usually get longer contracts, older players often only short terms. Plan for that – an expensive veteran with a short contract must pay off quickly.
Free agents compared
Free agents are out-of-contract players you can sign by salary offer. Unlike auctions, here price alone does not decide, but a total package of salary, length and your club's reputation. A good reputation can help you convince sought-after players even when your offer is not the highest.
Watch the market for several days before you bid. Late bids can extend auctions – whoever is patient often pays less.
Keep your roster at at least 23 players, otherwise you can no longer list players. Sell only once the replacement is secured.
